Ms. Garwood’s students practice Checkmate!

Dear Lesley, Bill, Dean and Julie, Dwayne and Terese, George, Gillian, Bill, Greg and Monica, Laurent, Jeffrey, Sophia and Larry, and UBS,

Ms. Palmer writes, “Thank you so much for your generosity! My students have really enjoyed learning about and playing the game of chess. Slowly I have begun to see my students begin to think ahead and problem solve. I am also hoping to see some carry over on our state test. Here is a picture of my students. On this particular day we were practicing checkmating our opponent, trying to avoid a stalemate. Again… thank you, thank you, thank you!”

Thank you so much for funding the whole program for Ms. Palmer’s class. Her kids now have access to the whole curriculum, their own chessboards, and kits to take home with their family. Thanks again!
