I would like to convey my heartfelt thanks to you for funding our second grade chess program. If you could only see the children grow in their knowledge during the year, funding this program would be an easy thing for anyone to do. Chess helps the children “think” about what they are doing before they do it.
Learning a lesson each week during the year, the children are always ready to play a game of chess, no matter who they will face across the board—teacher, student, or other adult.
The students even teach their parents and older siblings to play. This proves that learning chess improves their self-confidence, and their ability to relate to others.
Thank you again for funding a classroom in our school! We Play Chess!!!
